Ginger
My graphic
design skills were honed in New York City, where I spent decades
working in the field for corporations and on my own. As a graphic
designer, senior art director, and production manager in the city,
I quickly learned all aspects of the business from computer design
to the latest production and print technology. Life was good,
but my spirit cried out for more.
I longed
to be closer to nature. When I came to Asheville, NC, to visit
friends, I knew I had found my new home. So in 2001, I moved
to this thriving arts community in the Western North Carolina
Mountains. It was the profoundly right thing for me. I've re-invented
myself, happily, since I arrived here. I knew I was open to
new possibilities, but the entire process has exceeded my expectations.
I work with
wonderful people in this community, some native, others transplants
like myself. And I continue to work with my favorite New York
clients. I have developed caring relationships with many clients,
and I work in a wonderful collaborative environment. My creativity
has expanded, and I am grateful.
I relish my
healthy lifestyle now. I've unleashed many passions since moving
here, including mountain hiking, painting, sculpture, writing,
gardening, nurturing special friendships, and a partner to share
my life with. I'm also closer to my daughter, and cherish the
time we spend together.
My graphic
designs are stronger, crisper. I can't quite believe I get paid
to play, to be creative! My life and work in Asheville is the
realization of my dream. I am blessed.
