Corporate Client Partnerships

Working with corporate clients requires high energy and flexibility. I bring my lively, welcoming, accessible style to help them focus on project direction, whether it's a newsletter, magazine, annual report or logo. Having worked with many different corporations, I am adept at establishing and maintaining budgets, production schedules, working within the corporate culture, and delivering professional, quality products. As a highly intuitive person, I also listen carefully, not only to what is said, but also to what is NOT said, to help add depth and understanding to the process.

Cherokee Preservation Foundation
Nancy Foltz, public relations expert, asked me to collaborate with her on a series of projects for the Cherokee Preservation Foundation, which uses tribal money to preserve Cherokee traditions and upgrade businesses and cultural attractions. The magazines, which report on the projects that are underway and planned, keep the tribe updated on improvements and progress.

Sanesco
The latest of my design projects for Hector Romero, President of Sanesco. They are designed to be eye-catching patient brochures for display in doctors’ offices. See my other work further down on this site for more information about his company and other design projects.

Sanesco
Hector Romero left Neuroscience to realize his own vision of helping people optimize their health through neurotransmitter research and development, bridging both the traditional and alternative medical communities. What an exciting prospect--to be part of this new company’s birth, and with Hector’s passion and drive. So far I have developed their corporate logo, stationery, product guide and technical guide.

Asheville Chamber of Commerce
Dina de Santis called me from the Chamber to ask if I would develop a logo for their new Total Resource Campaign. “Cheeseburgers in Paradise” was the theme. Did my creative juices flow! I immediately visualized the idea for it and had fun creating the illustration. The kick-off meeting was wild, with life-sized palm trees, the host wearing a flamingo hat, and all the participants in high spirits. The result: the Chamber exceeded their first year’s fund-raising goal.

Neuroscience
Melissa Stanz brought me in when her client, Hector Romero, needed to develop a reference guide. I enjoyed learning about neurotransmitters, which balance the body’s nervous system and brain function. I quickly got caught up in Hector’s passion for his work, his extensive knowledge of the field, and his visionary ideas. I created a series of covers focusing on the core concept of balance, which expressed it to his great satisfaction.

Transylvania Community Hospital
I met Tina Kinsey at a Public Relations Association of Western North Carolina meeting, where we are both members. She approached me to develop a community benefits brochure to educate the community as to the benefits of the hospital and how it partners with and supports the local area. My desire was to convey the warm, friendly and helpful philosophy that Tina and the hospital staff embodied. Tina chose a design that was compact but folded out to tell their story. The last panel was perforated, with critical dates and hospital phone numbers that people could pin up for easy access when needed.

IBM
I worked with James Eisenman on IBM Horizons which was an in-house series of newsletters printed every other month for each of IBM's eight divisions.
Many of the articles were of a technical nature, and I developed conceptual
illustrations to enliven the stories. We worked with the editorial staff who
were creative and lively and kept the ideas fresh. I worked on this project
for six years, through a complete redesign, cutting costs and recreating a
new look. I also developed the design and the photography for an Equal
Opportunity brochure. I loved the interaction with so many diverse people.

Biltmore Estate
"My first assignment for Ginger was a complete re-design of a newsletter. She took a complicated task with lots of "must-haves" and "want-to-haves" associated with it, and created a new design that was better than we could have imagined. She did this quickly, efficiently, and within budget, adding more value to the product than anticipated. She has a wonderful design eye yet is also practical and pragmatic, so I believed our investment was well spent with her. Bottom line: what she created for us has met with rave reviews and more than achieved our goals." Judy Ross, Biltmore Estate

Grove Park Inn
Don Walton introduced me to Brian Austin, marketing services manager, who hired me to redesign the ticket package for the Adventure Weekends, featuring dance, music and comedy. They presented me with a series of problems to solve, which included ticket control, preferred VIP guest events, easy recognition, and printing costs. They envisioned the tickets as souvenirs that guests would take home and keep. I developed a series of colorful, fun tickets that kept the unique flavor of each event while simplifying Grove Park Inn's job. The next year he asked for an elegant look. I used gold ink and a theme that unified all the tickets.

New York Magazine
Maia Michaelson is the strong, charismatic owner of Mico Promotions, a New York-based company, and my friend. We began working together on a Warner's catalog, which led to my creating a brochure for one of her other clients, New York Magazine. They wanted to solicit business for their classified section. I envisioned a colorful illustration that could be reused inside the brochure for the different categories, creating a lively look while working within their budget.

Southeastern Telecom (SETEL)
I met Debbie Manley of SETEL at the Asheville Chamber of Commerce Power Networking. She asked if I could create a selling tool for their salespeople to take when meeting new clients. They needed a piece that would represent the world-class professionalism of the company while underscoring their hometown approach to service. Because of budget constraints, I took digital photographs of the employees and their clients for use in the brochure. They all made me feel welcome and a part of their team, the very strength that their clients love about them. "As we had never taken on a venture such as this, we weren't quite sure what we needed to do, but you provided the direction, easy rapport and experience to guide us."
