Educational/Publishing

When the opportunity arose to work in educational publishing, I knew I had found my passion. I have fifteen years experience as a design director in children's educational publishing, from kindergarten through high school, including custom publishing for the cities of Chicago and Detroit. Most of the jobs I supervise for large publishing companies as an outside vendor involve taking the entire project from design direction, budgeting, photo research and photo shoots, stock house permissions, hiring illustrators, and creating whiteboards, through production usually under tight deadlines. I work entirely over the Internet with the publishers' writers and editors. In addition I have designed numerous photography and jewelry books.
